Adding new updates below this story…….

The original story (published on March 04, 2022) is as follows:

A few weeks ago, Samsung unveiled its latest flagship devices at the Galaxy Unpacked event. The S22 series consists of three phones namely, Samsung Galaxy S22, S22 Plus and S22 Ultra.

That being said, the Galaxy S22 Ultra is the biggest and most expensive phone in the series. It has the highest battery capacity of all and also has an embedded S-Pen.

But like other smartphones released recently, the Galaxy S22 Ultra users have had their fair share of bugs and issues like Camera shutter and performance lag And Crackling sound problem.

And now, Galaxy S22 Ultra users are complaining (one,2,3,4,5,6,7,8,9,10) about abnormal battery drain. Owners of the device say that the battery sometimes drops to a very fast percentage.

Some reports suggest that the phone’s battery backup is worse than the Galaxy S21 Ultra. While the Exynos processor variant may not be as power-efficient as the Snapdragon variant, users say that the issue persists in both versions.

You can see in the image below how quickly the battery drains for something.

Below are some reports of Galaxy S22 Ultra owners complaining about battery drain.

Tbh, really poor. If I drain my battery completely I have to charge it twice a day. If I don’t let it go below 30-40 percent (because it takes a while to charge and sometimes I want less continuous time with it stuck on the charger) I have to top it up multiple times a day. I get about 3-4 hours of soot from 100 to 0, with relatively light or moderate use. Still can’t get more than 4 with battery saving mode on, wifi and 60hz all day. Everything else about the phone is great.. but the battery life is terrible and once the battery dies in a few years it will probably be useless tbh.

My battery life is worse compared to my last phone which I used for 2 years. I’ve only had the s22 ultra for 2 days and I’ve turned on battery saver, but it still drains faster than my last phone. There’s no reason for the battery to tank so quickly, especially when the screen is off. Location, wifi, bluetooth etc are all off, but when I wake up in the morning it’s down by at least 30% overnight. My old phone probably lost 5%.

Since the phone is relatively new, it is still uncertain whether the battery drain is related to a hardware or software issue. We hope Samsung will shed some light on this issue and release an update that will fix the issue.

Nevertheless, we’ll keep an eye on the matter and let you know when we get new information, so keep checking this space.

An inefficient process results in chipsets with poor battery and thermal management. Although both are influenced by the subject, it seems that More obvious on the Exynos one.

In fact, Samsung has teamed up with AMD to develop a powerful GPU (RDNA 2 architecture) with the aim of making the Exynos 2200 the mobile chipset with the most powerful GPU.

Unfortunately, Exynos 2200 inefficiencies and powerful GPU internals caused severe thermal throttling during testing. This forced the company Reduce the GPU clock speed (from 1.9GHz to 1.29GHz).

This is why the Galaxy S23 series will not use the Exynos chipset. It is also known that high-end Exynos chips Will return in 2025When their battery and heating issues are resolved.

Update 7 (January 20, 2023)

They only offer a factory reset, then recommendation The user has to wait for a few weeks to know the usage pattern of the smartphone.
